As part of the acquisition of Midland Classic, two Wright-bodied VDL SB250 double-deck buses joined the Diamond Bus fleet. Both vehicles were built for Arriva London's red bus operations, where they carried fleet numbers DW82 and DW87 respectively. On joining Diamond Bus, they were renumbered 40633 (formerly DW82) and 40634 (formerly DW87). The pair transferred to the Midland Classic fleet in 2018, where they were repainted into the company's distinctive red and yellow livery and fitted with electronic destination displays to bring them into line with the rest of the fleet. Unlike the newer Alexander Dennis Enviro400s in the Diamond Bus fleet, both vehicles have retained their original dual-door layout. However, as with many operators of former London dual-door buses, the centre doors are no longer used for normal passenger boarding or alighting and are retained solely for emergency use.
