Over the Christmas period of 2024, both former Johnson's Optare MetroDecker buses were transferred from the Diamond Bus Redditch depot to Diamond Bus North West's Eccles depot. The vehicles were required for use on Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) school contracts that had been secured as part of the Tranche 3 franchising programme, as well as for other commercial services. As the MetroDeckers had accumulated considerable mileage during their time at Redditch, Diamond Bus purchased two brand-new Alexander Dennis Enviro400MMC double-deck buses to replace them. The new vehicles arrived from dealer stock in plain white dealer livery over the Christmas period and entered service from the Redditch depot on Monday 6 January 2025.
